America is experiencing another environmental calamity after Katrina and it seems to be more catastrophic as the latter. But the route of the new disaster is not usual but merely human indulged errors or giddiness. Now the blame is being tossed between the government's inactivity (and the lack of it) and BP's inaction or their insufficiency in training in tackling such a disaster. While BP represented by their executives in corporate uniforms cannot hold responsible the government for anything, they pass the blame to the third party in which they have tapped to build the pipes in the Gulf of Mexico.
However, the Brits are divided with President Obama's "angry" remarks with mortifications against the BP of course with close association with what the "BP" stands thus bringing some Brits to exclaim foul over the President's remarks. The media has even flooded over Obama's perceived public sordid rant which should not be heard from a leader. But as quick as a fox the President's aid and allies mediated and pull in the "out of context" alibi. All these things that happened have one reason that is still left unsolved until now - the BP oil spill.
CNN has live video streaming of the spill in their website and from that one can easily tell how much of oil is being spewed out to the sea and reaching to the beaches of the country affecting the animal's welfare and the environment's as a whole. There had been many suggestion brought out to solve the crisis but only those that, according to some scientists, BP executives want to use prevail. In Texas and Georgia, there are two groups respectively that expressed willingness in helping solve the current problem in the Gulf coast. They are textile manufacturers who instead of thinking of how effectively make workwear uniforms and other apparels have laid down their cause to help solve the disaster.
The Texas Tech University researchers expressed that they have just the right instrument to absorb and lessen the aromatic effect of the spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The said device was actually an innovative textile that is made of cotton absorbent feature that can sip "toxic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon vapors." The researcher called this a Fibertect. This invention was actually made for the military use chemical and biological warfare weapon shield.
Another group from Norcross, Georgia developed another textile that is deemed to also absorb the oil that spilt out of BP's pipes. Dynamic Absorbents, Inc. was the company who claimed to have invented a solution. The secret with the DAI's solution lies mainly in the capacity of cotton to absorb oil and with technology the company has made a particular chemical additive to cotton so it may become more effective. They have combined cotton with alumina.
These two discoveries are really awe-inspiring and of course helpful to our environment. But looking at how big the spill has gone through for several months already, it would take a corroboration of all textile manufacturers in order to successfully eliminate oil out of the sea - an exploit that is possible but is simply would take a long duration of time.
